Great song. Haven't heard it before though listened to quite a few of Waits.

"Вечность пахнет нефтью". Это фраза из песни "Русское поле экспериментов" группы Гражданская Оборона . Также в произведении "Generation "П"" Виктора Пелевина  - "Во всей вселенной пахнет нефтью". А тут сегодня читаю у Бертранда Расселла: When completely recovered, he rushed to see what he had written. It was: "A smell of petroleum prevails throughout."
